Raymond Brill, O.D.

Dr. Brill has so many degrees and certifications, we threatened to make his business card postcard size. Every time he gets bored, he attains another achievement.

Dr. Brill had his undergraduate studies at Northern Illinois University, where he was President of the Pre-Professional Association. He then received his BSVS and OD degrees from Illinois College of Optometry and was a US Army Active Duty for Training at both Ft. Jackson, SC, and Ft. Bragg, NC, Moncrief Army Hospital and Womack Army Medical Center respectively. Which led to him being a US Army Chief of Optometry Clinic, Irwin Army Hospital, Ft. Riley, KS and a US Army First Infantry Division Optometrist.

After his career in the Army, he founded Brill Eye Center in Mission, KS. In the subsequent years, he continued his education with the Chief Executive Optometrist Program, University of Pennsylvania Wharton Business School and the Executive Master of Business Administration, University of Missouri, Kansas City.

He has had years of awards of honors including:

Perry Brill

General Manager

Perry Brill is proud to be a representative of the “illusive millennial mind” when it comes to eyecare and eyewear. Perry believes in keeping abreast of optical trends and sharing his knowledge with the optical community writ large. He began his optician career in 2012 while attending college at the University of Kansas and obtaining a B.S. in Environmental Studies.

Perry currently is the general manager of Brill Eye Center in Mission, KS. He is responsible for all the daily operations at the practice to make it a luxurious and welcoming environment for all patients. Perry is known for his impeccable taste in fashion and eyewear. He has a deep technical knowledge of frames, lens manufacturing, and eyecare technology.

In Perry’s free time, he enjoys international travel in places like Iceland and the French Riviera, fitness, and cooking fresh meals. He is well-connected in the eyecare community and even hosts his own podcast with Dr. Brill called Eyetrepreneur. The podcast focuses on motivating and inspiring the eyecare community to perform at the highest level and have success in their careers.


Debbie Levine


Debbie Levine is the longest term employee at Brill Eye Center with over 25+ years of experience. She is responsible for making your visit seamless the moment you walk in the front door. She knows how frustrating going to the doctor can be, but Debbie makes it easy. Many of Brill Eye Center’s patients consider Debbie family as she knows hundreds of them on a first name basis. Debbie takes pride in caring for generations of family members.

Debbie grew up in Kansas City, and has enjoyed seeing the city become a vibrant place. She has 2 sons, Perry and Stuart, and raised them in Shawnee, KS. Perry is currently the General Manager at Brill Eye Center and Stuart is a resident doctor of neurology in Detroit.

In Debbie’s free time, she enjoys visiting white sand beaches. It’s that one place she can sit back, relax, and enjoy a moment of silence.


Courtney Griffin

Lead Technician

Courtney is the Lead Technician and is well-educated on all aspects of eye health and prevention. She has been working at Brill Eye Center for 5 years. She assists Dr. Brill helping patients receive the best experience and medical care available during your exams. After work, you will find her at the gym, spending time with her family or soaking up all the cuddles from her dog Lily. She loves cheering on the Kansas City Royals and listening to her favorite band The Beatles. Courtney’s dream is to swim with great white sharks (in a cage of course) because she loves to live life on the edge! And yes, Courtney watches Shark Week on television.


Kevin Powell

Senior Optician

Kevin Powell, the Senior Optician at Brill Eye Center, is renowned for his technical optics and frame expertise. Kevin has over 12 years of professional optical experience, and is proud to give every patient a bespoke tailored fitting eyewear experience. He has a passion for luxury eyewear brands, and enjoys transforming patient’s appearance through world-class eyewear available right here in Kansas City. Kevin is a sports fanatic and enjoys playing Tennis (rather competitively!) and watching Mizzou football and basketball. Kevin has taught tennis in the past and still carries the passion for learning and teaching with him today. Staying on top of current events in the news is part of Kevin’s DNA. Kevin’s technical and curious mindset will always ensure you receive the best eye care possible!


Taryn McQueen


Taryn is a technician here at Brill Eye Center and joined the team in 2019. She quickly found a passion for eye care and giving patients the best possible medical care. Everyday is different and she is constantly learning something new. She can be found assisting Dr. Brill with eye exams and making sure every patient experience is positive.

Taryn is from Colorado and moved to Kansas City in 2018. She loves exploring the city and finding new coffee shops to try. After work she can be found snuggled up with her puppy Oliver and watching her favorite show Parks and Rec. She loves her new home but frequently travels back to Colorado to visit family and enjoy time in the mountains.
